The Story
An albino doe, pink of eye and white of coat, mounted at the shoulder.
This specimen of an albino white-tailed deer (*Odocoileus virginianus*) is prepared as a classic wall-hung shoulder mount. Displaying the complete absence of melanin characteristic of true albinism, the coat is entirely creamy white, matched by a flesh-pink muzzle, pale inner ears, and striking translucent pink-red glass eyes. The pose is modelled with the head turned lightly to the viewer's right, ears alert and pricked, capturing the delicate anatomy of the female cervid.
Mounted over a modern anatomical form, the piece retains supple skin and well-defined musculature along the neck and bridge of the nose. True albino specimens occur with an estimated frequency of one in thirty thousand, rendering such mounts unusual curiosities within natural history collections. Ready for wall suspension with an integrated reverse bracket.
