The Story
A silver-plated sporting trophy cup and cover of mid-century manufacture, raised upon a stepped hardwood plinth. The cup is cast and spun in classical taste, featuring a rounded bowl flanked by twin cast handles, supported by a fluted knopped stem above a gadrooned circular foot.
The domed lid is surmounted by a cast figure of a male athlete in shorts, depicted in mid-motion with one arm raised in celebration. The trophy retains a bright surface with honest signs of handling, and rests unengraved, suggesting it may have served as a club perpetual prize or display sample. The solid wooden base provides balanced proportion and substantial weight to the overall assembly.
