The Story
A full-mount goat with sweeping horns, saddled and set on wooden rockers. Not for small riders.
Conceived with that peculiar streak of sporting eccentricism that once populated country house billiard rooms and eccentric alpine retreats, this creature turns the polite Victorian rocking horse entirely on its head. The taxidermy is well rendered, capturing the alert, quizzical countenance of a mature billy goat boasting a formidable, lateral spread of spiralled horns.
Girthed across its cream fleece is a miniature tooled leather stock saddle complete with stirrups and shearling pad, while the hooves are firmly anchored into a sturdy hardwood rocker frame. Equal parts Wunderkammer folly and sculptural bravura, it demands a lofty room—somewhere between hunting lodge oak panelling and expansive library floorboards—where its singular silhouette and faintly menacing charm can be properly indulged.
