The Story
A full-mount taxidermy specimen of a Umbrella cockatoo, presented in dynamic display with both wings broadly outstretched and crest semi-erect. The wings reveal the characteristic pale yellow wash along the underside of the flight feathers, counterbalancing the white body plumage and dark beak.
The bird is modelled perched upon a bifurcated naturalistic branch, secured into a turned oval timber plinth finished in matte ebonised lacquer. While Victorian taxidermy favoured domed cases or static perches, this modern mount features a dramatic architectural silhouette intended for table or pedestal presentation.
