The Story

A monumental red deer (Cervus elaphus) trophy, comprising a skull cap and wide-spreading antlers presented upon a moulded timber shield. The rack displays pronounced brow and trez tines, sweeping upward and outwards into cup-like crowns with a commanding span.

The skull element has been traditionally prepared, retaining the full frontal bone and upper facial structure. Mounted firmly to a varnished hardwood backing board, typical of British highland estate or continental forest trophies from the mid-twentieth century. Natural variations in bone colour and deep furrowing across the antler beams reflect natural wear and age.
