The Story
A roe buck (*Capreolus capreolus*) frontlet mount, presented on a traditionally bevelled wooden escutcheon shield. The skull retains its juvenile spike antlers, securely fixed to the wooden support by a pair of iron screws through the orbital bridge.
The entirety—bone, antler, and timber backing—has been finished in an opaque, monochromatic off-white paint, transforming a conventional European sporting trophy into a clean architectural curiosity. Traces of a stamped or inscribed designation, likely an estate mark and date from the 1930s, remain discernible beneath the paint at the lower base of the shield.
